Founder Story

VCare is an emerging global brand originating from Norway. Dr. Frode Brakstad is the initiator and founder of the VCare brand, as well as the co-founder of the Norwegian brand Vitality Innovation and the core developer behind its key products.

With decades of dedication to the field of animal nutrition and health, he combines profound scientific expertise with a genuine passion for animal wellbeing. During the 1990s, Dr. Brakstad served as Research Manager of Hydro Agri Europe’s Department of Product Formulation and Application, including Animal Nutrition. In this role, he led advanced research and product development initiatives at an international level, translating science into practical and commercially viable solutions.

In 1996, he was awarded The Research Council of Norway’s Award for Outstanding Application of Research, recognizing his ability to transform scientific excellence into impactful innovation.

Dr. Brakstad later served as Chief Scientist at SINTEF, one of the largest independent research organization in North Europe, where he among many project also collaborated with Aker on scientific research projects.

Growing up in Norway shaped his strong belief that pets are family. Guided by the principles of scientific care, equal companionship, and harmony with nature, he has devoted his career to transforming rigorous research into every VCare product.
VCare rejects blind commercialization and instead focuses firmly on the true needs of pets. Each product reflects a commitment to science-driven solutions infused with care — nurturing every moment shared between pets and their families.
